Trade Unions Says Labor Should Have Been Consulted
Not everyone is happy about the vaccine and test mandate. Some sectors say they should have been consulted first. That’s the position the National Trade Union Congress. The NTUCB says while they recognize GOB has a duty to develop reasonable measures to protect public health, they find it quote “disheartening” that no worker input, even from healthcare professionals or lab technicians, was sought. With just hours to go before the October first mandate takes effect, the NTUCB is at the eleventh hour asking the government to postpone the start date and meet with labor force representatives as soon as possible. The union umbrella organization terms the government’s current approach to policy making as too rigid, saying it does not allow for meaningful collaboration in the battle against COVID-19.
