Body Found May Be Missing Resident of Mile 31
On Wednesday concerned residents reported that one of their neighbors living at the entrance to Crooked Tree Village may have been abducted. Today police located a body a few miles away. And while authorities are not saying that the remains are that of Geoffrey Crawford, indications are it may be, especially since a vehicle at the scene is the same color and make of the one he owned. News Five was there when police were assessing the site of the discovery.

The body, believed to be that of Geoffrey Crawford, was discovered, on a private property in an area about two miles off the Phillip Goldson Highway, outside of Biscayne Village. An area so remote, it took reporters some time to locate. Once we got close to the scene, News Five met a police mobile escorting a flat bed truck into the area. Police instructed us to keep our distance, about a half mile away from the scene. Later, a Scenes of Crime vehicle was seen leaving. Behind them was the police mobile, once again escorting the flat bed truck. But this time the truck had cargo. Secured onto it was a red Pathfinder SUV, similar to Crawford’s own. At the scene where the body was found, we came across a shallow grave. News Five spoke to one man who claims he witnessed Crawford’s abduction from his home near Crooked Tree on Wednesday.
“I opened the van, took out the battery, and I went to give the young man a jump. So, the hood was already up for his car, over there, but I know the car, and I know who the car belongs to. It is for that man who lives right over that house there, behind us there, Mr. Geoffrey. I do work for that man. I do mechanic for that man. So now – I don’t know this man’s relatives or this man’s family. So, it wasn’t puzzling me until when they started the vehicle and almost knocked me down. As they started, they put it into reverse, and flew out, and left. When I jumped this way, that’s when I saw the person in the backseat, a dark-complexioned man in the backseat, when I flinched backwards. I was moving so that they didn’t run over my foot. It was Mr. Geoffrey, because I know the guy. Over 5 years, I know the guy. I saw 2 injuries on his face, and blood on his white shirt, and a short blue pants that he had on. He was lying down at the back. Mr. Jeff looked like he was dead. People look motionless, and they are still breathing, so, we don’t know if he was dead or not.”
