Kids’ Mexico trip cancelled by tropical storm

It was going to be a great experience in the lives of some young Belizean musicians… but alas, Mother Nature had other plans. Today the Belize Arts Council announced that the upcoming trip of the Grace Primary “Pantastick” Steel Band to Veracruz, Mexico has been cancelled due to the presence of a tropical storm in the area. A release from the council states that after an agonizing day of deliberations and weather watching it was decided that subjecting the students and chaperons to a 20 hour road trip with no assurance of a performance, would not be fair. The 23 member band was to be featured at the International Latin American Cultural Festival in Veracruz.
