Collision on Amara Avenue

Story Picture
A man narrowly escaped serious injuries this morning as the vehicle he was travelling in plowed into a delivery truck. The accident occurred around ten fifteen and took place at the corner of Amara Avenue and Allemby Street. According to witnesses the Ford Taurus car driven at the time by Lan Quingzhe was going up Allemby Street but ran the stop sign. As the vehicle moved across Amara Avenue it crashed into a Quality Poultry delivery truck. The car, which hit the front of the truck, was then dragged along until the side of it became jammed under the truck. Although the bigger vehicle received only minor damage the car’s bumper and lights were totally wrecked. Quingzhe was charged with failing to give way to a motor vehicle on a major street. According to Orlando Carrasco, the truck’s driver, while it is the first time he has been involved in such an accident, he has had many near misses at this particular junction. According to residents in the area, because Amara Avenue is not heavily trafficked, far too many drivers coming out from the adjacent streets do not obey the stop signs posted at the corners.
