Mother of missing child asks for help
With the murder of Karen Cruz in Orange Walk still fresh on everyone’s mind and the brutal deaths of Sherilee Nicholas and Jackie Malic, and possibly Jay Blades still haunting us, any time a child disappears or runs away from home we fear the worst. Earlier this week when it was reported that a little girl had gone missing somewhere between Euphrates Avenue and Cemetery Road people immediately began to worry. And today almost a week later, her mother is scared and asking for everyone, and anyone’s help.
It has been six days since Karen Wills has seen her nine year old daughter Erica. Early last Saturday morning, the standard two Salvation Army student went to visit a relative with her 21 year old cousin Verla Gordon. According to Wills, although Gordon came home on Tuesday she said she had sent Erica home all by herself on Saturday evening.

“My husband meet her out there and she flounce up and she said that she send her home on Saturday.”
Q: “Do you have any idea where she might be or why she has gone?”
Karen Wills
“I don’t know because I never beat Erica or anything. Only since she came to my house my child missing. I live here nine years and none of my children ever missing yet.”
While her four sisters and two brothers await Erica’s return, Karen traveled to relatives in Maskall in search of her, but her efforts are compounded by the fact that she has no pictures of her daughter.

“She got on a mauve and white jumper and one pony tail, a silver bangles and an earring in her ear.
I went to Maskall to see if they have my little girl there but we never find her there.
If anybody out there see my daughter or have her at their house please bring her home to me.”

According to Head of C.I.B., Assistant Inspector of Police Simeon Alvarez, they have gotten reports that Erica was seen yesterday holding hands with another girl on Central American Boulevard and are following up on this lead.
