Foreign Affairs and Trade and Min. of Agriculture Hold Joint Talks on Export
Teams from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ministry of Agriculture met on Monday to discuss greater cooperation and developing further trade with Guatemala and Mexico. According to the Government Press Office, key topics were market access and the expansion of the Partial Scope Agreement. The meeting also looked at concerns relating to bilateral trade and investment between Belize and Mexico. The state of Belize’s export competitiveness and import requirements to be met by local producers for export to Guatemala and Mexico were also examined, as well as which Belizean companies are currently capable of producing for export to these markets. Support was provided by senior technical officers in the respective ministries.
