A Christmas Message Focuses on Celebrating History

Philip Wright

What does Christmas mean for you? You’d find that for many persons, the spirit of the season holds a special place for various reasons, but often, it is about spending time with family and friends.  The celebration, however, surrounds the birth of Christ.  Bishop Phillip Wright of the Anglican Diocese spoke to News Five via zoom today about the true meaning of Christmas.

Bishop Philip Wright, Anglican Diocese of Belize

“What we commemorate and what we celebrate at Christmas time is what Christians believe to be the greatest event in human history; when God chose to come to earth and live a fully and authentic human life and by so doing, has left us an example of how we ought to live with each other. And so I believe that all of us when we celebrate Christmas, when we gather with family and friends, when we share gifts share meals and have a good time, I believe the hope is that we will all do that mindful of what we are celebrating. That we are celebrating perhaps the most important event in all of human history and thanks be to God that human history and thanks be to God that human history has never been the same as a result to this event.”
