Thompson is Arrested for Mahogany Heights Murder
Eighteen-year-old Ethan Thompson was mortally wounded when he was shot by a pair of gunmen who accosted him while riding a bicycle near his home in Mahogany Heights. The unfortunate incident happened on the morning of November first. Since then, investigators have been following all possible leads with the hope of making an arrest in that case. Earlier today, the Belize Police Department formally arrested and charged George Michael Hyde, a resident of Burrell Boom Village, for the crime of murder. The twenty-three-year-old remains in police custody and will be remanded to the Belize Central Prison pending his next court appearance. The shooting death of Ethan Thompson preceded another murder in that western community where seventeen-year-old Camron Hernandez was also gunned down on November seventeenth.
