B.S.C.F.A. Wants Mill to Step Up Capacity

Earlier this week B.S.C.F.A. had called on the sugar mill to boost its processing capacity, because they say farmers run the risk of losing out on their investment.  They say the factory is only operating at fifty percent capacity. And, although the sugar crop is practically at a standstill until an interim agreement is signed, B.S.C.F.A. members are demanding that the factory ensures its mill is operating at a hundred percent capacity very soon.

“We just hoping on the side of our membership to have a successful crop, because every piece of cane is money lost if we don’t get to deliver that cane. And, I hope on the mill side, fulfill their promise of after the three weeks they should kick off as normal. We hope that will be, because after then that will be more problem for us at the end of the crop. And we as the B.S.C.F.A., we don’t stand to see our farmers’ cane left in the field and lost. It is accumulating on top of our farmers, because they have bills to pay and they need to feed their families. So, I am making it clear. We hope B.S.I./A.S.R. holds responsible after this three weeks, for his factory to normalize and to normalize the delivery also.”
