New Program for Women through Ahmadiyya
Last week, the Ahmadiyya Muslim community donated sports equipment to the Belize Central Prison and the Wagner’s Youth Facility in Hattieville. And, for the New Year, Imam Naveed Mangla shared with us that they are about to begin another program, this time for women.
Imam Naveed Mangla, Leader, Ahmadiyyah Muslim Jama’at
“We have a women’s course that we’re trying to conduct at the beginning of January, those (inaudible) sisters that been wronged in any way or (who are) depressed. We will have a professional coming in and teaching the course. We have done other courses in the past. Those are some of the things that we plan to continue. The Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at finds different ways to help people. I know that we might be known here in the country for basketball but the media would know that we have done many other services too. It’s just that sports, entertainment, music get more coverage, so that’s why you get to know more about basketball than all the other humanitarian services that our community is doing throughout the country.”
