Youth stabbed on Coffin Street
A young man’s attempts to get friendly with a young lady apparently sent him to the hospital today. A sixteen year old boy says he was walking on Coffin Street and began a conversation with a young woman who asked him to change some money at a shop. As he was leaving the store, he saw the girl’s boyfriend, known to him as “Brian” lingering in the area. Sensing trouble, he waited until the man had left and proceeded to a neighbor’s house. It was there that he says “Brian” approached him from behind and chopped his right foot with a machete. He said he tried to run up the stairs but “Brian” caught up with him and chopped his wrist before he ran off. The youth was taken to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital where he was treated and released. He has yet to file a police report.
