Phoenix Footlocker Raiders ready for Semi-pro finals

Story Picture
Last week Friday’s Semi Pro basketball game has left one team to face newcomers BTL Nets in the finals. Although there have been no Semi Pro games in the past year Phoenix Footlocker Raiders are no stranger to the Championships, the question is whether they can once again become the champs.

It will be fire on the basketball court as two teams fight for the Semi Pro Championships. Phoenix Footlocker Raiders and BTL Nets. In a Press Conference this morning the Raiders’ manager said his team is more than ready to bring home the championship for the fifth time.

Marshall Nunez, Manager, Raiders

“They have been putting in all the practices twice a day and they have 90 percent of the team attending practices. They have been doing the necessary stuff. It is all up to game night to go out there and have the heart to win.”

Keith Acosta, Forward

“So far it has been a good season, we have accomplished our goal and that is to reach the final so far it has been good.”

Although it has been good, Acosta believes that from tip off to the end, it will take a lot of sweat and hard work to beat the BTL Nets.

Keith Acosta

“They have the upper hand and I am looking to come out with everything I got like they say bring your A game.”

But this may be more than just an “A” game according to Raiders import Fabian Pittman, he had been waiting for the chance to go up against BTL Nets Guard Kevin Siroki.

Fabian Pittman, Point Guard

“I have been looking forward to this for a long time with Kevin Siroki I have been hearing a lot of hype about him so it is personal. I mean they beat us twice and so it is personal, very, very, personal.”

Maino Bevans, Forward

“We are going to go out there and play to the best of our ability and I will give 110 percent all of the time. I hope the referees give me a good time during the finals and like I said as far as winning is concerned we have got to leave that up to God.”

When the dust settles we will see which team goes home with the rings. Arreini Palacio, for News Five.

Semi Pro finals begins this Friday at the City Center. The best of three games will determine who will be the Semi Pro Champions.
