Suicide or accident? Youth dies in Orange Walk
Police are investigating a strange case which has left a primary school student dead in the village of Guinea Grass. According to Orange Walk police, Jose Moralez reported that at nine fifteen Monday night his family was watching television in their house when he and his wife decided to go to bed leaving their fourteen year old son Carlos Moralez in a hammock. Around nine thirty his mother asked Carlos to turn off the lights and television but got no response. When Jose Moralez went to check on his son, he found Carlos kneeling with the hammock twisted around his neck. He was not breathing. The family tried to resuscitate him but was unable to and rushed him to the Orange Walk Town Hospital. He was pronounced dead on arrival. Police say the shocked family had not noticed any unusual behavior in the boy and they do not believe anyone else could have entered the house since the door was bolted from the inside. Because of the position of the body police have not yet determined if it was a suicide or an accident.
