Belizean musician, Stig Da Artist, is making big moves on the international scene, snagging features from Afro Beat sensation Davido and D.J. Khaled for his upcoming album.  As we reported several weeks ago, a contract has been signed between the artist and Universal Music Group for the distribution of his records.  Shyne has been instrumental in getting Stig on the international stage.  On Wednesday, a snippet of a song was uploaded to social media during what appears to have been a listening session.  Earlier today, we spoke with Stig via Zoom about his new music.

“The song is an Afro Beat, big up to D.J. Perf, you guys know my producer. Di man really gaan crazy pan dis beat, but if you guys listen to majority of my music, da real, real music.  So the song is, the concept of the song is that I am intoxicated and I’m saying like I miss dis gial, but as much as ah miss ahn, if she noh call me first I noh wahn call ahn back neither because I noh follow backa nobody, but, ah wahn call ahn bad doh cause ah love ahn, you know. It was a real situation at the time, in the moment, so exactly how I felt at the time, I just put it on the beat bro. This is a song that I recorded from 2018. You know we have a lot of big songs. I still make songs every single day but we have a lot of big songs in the vault.  Shyne had reached out to us months back saying that he is going to link me with Davido to do a collab.  He delivered… Months ago the Davido vocals came in and he said, “Yo, I made [D.J.] Khaled hear the song when I was in Miami and [D.J.] Khaled wanted to be a part of the project and, you know, obviously I got excited but we wanted to hear it, we wanted to see it for ourselves so we can truly know that, you know, and I truly knew that Shyne would deliver but I wanted to see it for myself and so said, so done bro. Our goal is to shoot the video in Belize, fully.  We want to bring D.J. Khaled and we want to bring Davido and we want to put Belize on the map.  We want to make the Belizean people proud.  The song is going to be distributed by, because this is probably going to be the first single off the album deal that I have… This is going to be the single, the lead single probably, or the first single at least, off the album that I gotta present to the record label. So dehn wahn distribute it bro and we wahn try wih best fu mek it be all about Belize mein.”
