Flowers, Chocolates and Jewelry: The Many Ways to Say “I Love You” This Valentine’s Day

With only three days left before Valentine’s Day, many will be out gift hunting over the weekend. Some will try to be offbeat and original, but for most the traditional flowers and chocolates still top the list. And then, there is always a special meal together or something in a precious metal to symbolize the strength of the relationship. Tonight, News Five’s Paul Lopez is here to help you with your selections.

If you are on a budget for Valentine’s Day, wanting to spend between ten to fifty dollars, you can consider purchasing flowers and chocolate. Here at Garden Blossoms Belize, you can purchase a rose for ten dollars. Add an extra forty and you can get a bouquet of roses with chocolates and a teddy bear.

“We are offering chocolates, wines, roses. We always tried to mostly have our prices be affordable, not too expensive. So, if you want to add chocolates, teddy bears, wine to your arrangement, we have that.”

“Why do you think that valentine and roses, why are they such a good valentine gift?”

Areli Lemus, Administrator, Garden Blossoms Belize

“I think it is just um, like we as women, it is something that we like. I don’t think there is any woman out there that wouldn’t appreciate chocolate and roses being given to her as a gift, or a guy. You know maybe every now and again a guy would appreciate flowers and chocolates.”

“You know some people say Valentine’s Day is overrated and you should show love every day and not only on Valentine’s Day. Do you feel that same way? What do you think?”

Areli Lemus, Administrator, Garden Blossoms Belize

“No, I actually, it is a holiday that is, it is a very nice holiday that one of the person you love you can show how much you appreciate them. Yes, you show them love every day. But, I mean specifically on that day you want to show them how much you love them every day.”

If your partner is not one for flowers or chocolates, and you have a bit more to spend, you may want to consider a night out at Signature Deck in Belize City.

But if flowers, chocolates, or dining out do not suit your gifting fancy, then jewelry might be the thing for you. These gifts may come in on the higher end of the budget, but J.E.C says they have the right deals for you.

“Right now for Valentine’s, we are offering fifteen percent off on most jewelry. We have twenty percent off diamonds. We also have silver at ten percent. So, we have a wide range of items and at different discounts. So, if you are on a low budget, if you saved and want to give something a bit special, then you would have that. Right now I understand jewelry is a bit high, people say, oh gold is so expensive, we can’t afford it. So, we try to do the best we can.”

“So if I come in here and I want something for two hundred dollars, I could get that?”

Krystal Armstrong

“Definitely”

“If I come in and I want something for ten thousand dollars, I could get that?”

Krystal Armstrong

“Oh yes, we definitely have that, and we would give you a special price too. I believe that you should at least try, even if it is like a little chocolate, you know you could write a little sweet note. It doesn’t have to be something big right. But, you should make that person feel that love on that special day.”
