Police Officer Remanded for Alleged Rape of a Child
A police constable finds himself behind bars tonight after he was arraigned today for the crime of “Rape of a Child.” The charge stems from a report made on Tuesday, February eighth, alleged to be the second time that the officer had intercourse with the thirteen-year-old girl. That day, the deputy commander of the Punta Gorda Police Station and a team of officers responded to information that a police officer was inside a house with a minor. When the officers got to the location, they found P.C. Giovanni Choc along with three females, including the minor. The girl, in the presence of her mother, reported that P.C. Choc had sexual intercourse with her on two separate occasions – in early December 2021 and then again that day. A medical examination was conducted on the minor and this morning, twenty-three-year-old Choc was arraigned for two counts of “Rape of a Child” and was remanded into custody by Magistrate Ford. P.C. Choc is to reappear in court on May eleventh, 2022.
