“Cansino is the name of the taxi man. He was operating his taxi and he was approached by these two individuals who requested to be taken at a particular location in Orange Walk Town. He agreed to take them, they got into the vehicle and after he drove off a couple minutes later, he was held from behind by one of the persons, while the other one inflicted stab wounds to him. He was able to release himself of them and at that same time he took out his licensed 38 revolver and he fired six shots at them, causing injuries to both individuals. Police responded to the area, they were found and all three persons were taken to the hospital where they are currently admitted in a stable condition.”
In a separate incident around nine on Saturday morning, a fight between two men from Santa Martha Village in Orange Walk had left both parties wounded, and police may file charges against both of them, depending on what the investigations unearth. Nineteen year-old Henry Lincona, suffered stab wounds while thirty-five year-old Andrés Leal, received a chop wound during the altercation.
