Tasher charged with obstruction
A man shot during an altercation with a B.D.F./police patrol at the end of April has been charged with obstruction and aggravated assault. Rodwell “Granny” Tasher was arraigned today in Magistrate’s Court in connection with the incident on the night of April 29th. Details are sketchy, but the police say Tasher was stopped by a B.D.F./police patrol but began to wrestle for a weapon which went off injuring him. The Amandala newspaper, however, reported that witnesses say Tasher was fleeing from the officers when he was shot. Tasher was hospitalized with gunshot wounds to his neck, chest and stomach, but was released yesterday to face charges. While in the hospital Tasher declined to give News Five an interview concerning the circumstances of the shooting.
