6.8 Magnitude Quake Rocks Guatemala
A six point eight magnitude temblor rocked buildings in Guatemala early this morning, and claimed two lives. The National Coordinator for Disaster Reduction in Guatemala has reported that the first earthquake occurred at a depth of sixty miles and caused landslides on roads, light damage to houses, and power outages. The two people who perished suffered heart attacks when the first big tremor hit. According to Reuters the epicenter this morning was near Tiquisate, Guatemala. An aftershock, measuring four point eight, was also reported later in the day. International media is reporting that tremors from the first quake were felt in parts of Mexico and El Salvador.
