Engineers work to improve professional image

Story Picture
The Association of Professional Engineers and Architects of Belize held a seminar this evening at the Radisson Fort George Hotel. The main objective of the meeting is for architects and engineers to discuss ways in which they can improve the image of Civil Engineering. Cadet Henderson told us more.

Cadet Henderson, Ministry of Works

“The Association of Professional Engineers and Architects of Belize has not been functional over the past several years and we hope that this visit from professor Sabnis from Howard University will give us some stimulus to get us back on track.

Mainly we will be discussing the past, present and future of the association. As well professor Sabnis will be making a presentation on the image of civil engineers globally since he is also the International Director of the Association of American Society for Civil Engineers. Additionally he will be making presentations on the use of concrete steel composites for energy efficient construction and we hope it will be an interactive session.”

The seminar was sponsored by Anthony Thurton and Associates Limited.
