Try and Try Again; Father Wins $25 Thousand Dollars on Scratch and Win

Today the daughter of the latest “Scratch and Win” winner came by News Five to share her story of her father’s good luck. Identifying herself only as “Olivia” she says her dad recently won a hundred dollars on a scratch card he purchased at a neighborhood shop. Instead of just cashing in, he said “let’s try again.”  And, just a short while later at another store, he bought more cards. They were excited to discover that this time he had won twenty-five thousand dollars. Olivia says thanks to “Scratch and Win”, her dad now has more than enough for medical attention and medication for his bad knees. “Scratch and Win” Director, Alex Gamero spoke about other potential prizes and how you just never know when someone will hit it big.

“My dad, he bought the scratch and he told me to scratch it. We bought about ten maybe, about ten tickets, and in the third one. I started to scratch it and then I saw the twenty and I see the twenty here and I said wow, I can’t believe it! And I told my dad, “We won!” We won’t twenty-five thousand. I didn’t tell him how much. I said, “I can’t see it, can you see it?” (laughs) And he saw it. “What? Twenty-five thousand? And he told me, yes.”

“Yes.. he is sick. He already spent a lot of money. He has problems with his knees. Done spend a lot. And he said, “I need to win, please, I need to win about ten thousand and you see? He won the twenty-five thousand. And he will use some for his medication.”

“The biggest prize we have paid to date is fifty thousand. We also have a hundred thousand dollar prize, two hundred and fifty thousand dollar prize, but nobody has won those yet. Those just came out a year ago. The biggest one we have paid is fifty thousand. Today, Olivia, well Olivia’s dad won twenty five thousand.”
