Police Patrols to Increase Now At Nighttime

Kareem Musa

The lifting of the curfew was long-awaited freedom that some thought came months late.  But along with that freedom others fear that there will be an increase of gun violence during those quiet hours when all we heard were dogs barking after midnight. But Minister of Home Affairs Kareem Musa says that the police department will scale up patrols to keep the peace at night.

Kareem Musa, Minister of Home Affairs

“We will certainly increase our presence our presence as a Police Department. After hours now there will has to be greater police presence, but like I always say, if a criminal wants to carry out a criminal act they will just move it up within the time of curfew and we’ve seen that over the last year or so. What I’m also happy for is the removal of masks outdoors because as you know, criminals would use that as a tool to disguise and they would wear caps, they would wear sunshades and a mask, but now, with the removal of this obligation to have on your mask, it certainly will help in terms of identifying criminals in committing their crimes.”
