Fishermen fined $8,000 for illegal lobster
The Fisheries Department has made an arrest for illegal lobster fishing. On Monday evening the fisheries patrol encountered Rodrigo Allen and his boat near Caye Caulker. Three hundred and fifty lobster tails were found in an ice chest aboard the boat. Today Allen was taken to court and fined over 8 thousand dollars. The Fisheries Department reminds everyone that the lobster season is closed from February fifteenth to June fourteenth of every year and offenders will be prosecuted.
