Man charged for indecent assault on baby

The rapid rise in sex offenses means either that Belize is experiencing a sudden epidemic of perversity or that the public outcry against child rape and murder has prompted an increased reporting of incidents that were until now either ignored or hushed up. The latest charges come from San Pedro, Ambergris Caye, where a fifty one year old man has been accused of molesting a two year old girl. Police have charged laborer Evangelisto Solis with wounding and indecent assault on the child whom he allegedly fondled sexually on Sunday in his apartment. Solis rents the lower flat of the family’s house. He was allegedly caught in the act by the baby’s mother who immediately reported the incident to police.
