BECOL Employee Falls to Death

A Belize Electricity Company Limited employee reportedly fell from a high post and died over the weekend. Reports are that San Jose Succotz resident, Carlos Rodriquez, was working at the Chalillo Dam when he plunged to his death. He was reportedly transported to the K.H.M.H. where he was pronounced dead on arrival. A release from the company says “the Company’s Management has spoken to his family and co-workers and has expressed deepest sympathies to everyone involved”. The release goes on to say, “BECOL is working closely with authorities on the investigation into the matter, and so no further information is available at this time. The health and safety of our employees remains paramount, as is the safe operation of the Chalillo Dam”.  BECOL extended its sincere condolences.
