3rd Belize Forensic Symposium to Focus on Justice
The Belize National Forensic Science Service, which falls under the Ministry of Home Affairs, is hosting the Third Belize Forensic Science Symposium. The professional development event is organized this year around the theme “Fostering Community, Pursuing Innovation and Instilling Confidence: The Role of Forensics in the Justice Ecosystem.” Scheduled speakers include judges, forensic pathologists and analysts, crime scene and legal medicine experts, professors, managers and laboratory directors. The Government of Belize and the United States Agency for International Development are the main supporters, but according to the Ministry, the conference is receiving support this year from Infosegura, the Evidence-based Information Management on Citizen Security in Central America and the Dominican Republic Project. The Third Forensic Symposium takes place this Friday, March eleventh and will be entirely via ZOOM.
