Statute of Limitations Protect, “Absconders of Tax Dollars”, Opposition Leader
Moses “Shyne” Barrow, the Leader of the Opposition, believes that government should be able to find creative ways to collect these outstanding taxes, even those that are considered uncollectable under the Statute of Limitations. Barrow contends that the statute should not protect “absconders of tax dollars”.

“There are creative ways to make it so that we can get the money, get people to pay what they owe the Belizean tax payers.”

“The boat has not sailed din your view? It is the law.”
Moses “Shyne” Barrow
“Again, we have come to this honorable House and presented legislations to remedy problems that did not exist. So, with a problem such as this I believe the country would rally behind the government to bring legislation where we can get people to pay what they owe. The Statute of Limitation should not be used for absconders of tax dollars that are owed to the Belizean people. I would like to state on record, I have never been a minister. I have never worked in the administration per say. The closest I came was as an ambassador of the creative sector. But, I was not in Cabinet when any of this was happening, so you can’t hold me hostage to what the past administration did not do.”
