Prime Minister: Bus Fares Will Increase

According to Prime Minister Briceño, an increase in bus fares is inevitable because bus owners are operating at a loss. He even fears that several bus operators may shut down if fares are not amended.

“The bus owners were there, and what is happening right now, we will be able to cap the price of diesel so it will go down a little bit. But, more importantly, I think we will have to look at the price structure. As much as we don’t want to accept it, the price structure has to change. The bus owners are losing money. If they can’t get a little bit more revenue they are going to shut down and then what is going to happen?”
