Press blackout in Malic case
Two days after the police detained Michael Williams for a second time in connection with the brutal rape and murder of twelve year old Jackie Fern Malic, the police have still been unable to make an arrest. And in fact, police are now saying that due to the extremely sensitive nature of the case no more information about the murder or their investigation will be available to the press until the killer is found and arrested.
A.I.P. Simeon Alvarez, Head of C.I.B.
“Well again that investigation we have treated very sensitively and I wouldn’t want to discuss the update on whatsoever we have on Williams at this time. So we will keep that on hold until there is a positive ground to make an arrest, then I will reveal all my secrets.”
A postmortem examination on the partially decomposed body of Malic reveal that the minor was stabbed thirty to fifty times on her vagina, buttocks, right knee and the left hand side of her face. The little girl’s left arm from the elbow down was also amputated. Michael Williams is also facing charges of indecent assault after a 12 year old reported that in January he touched her inappropriately while she was riding in a car with him. The case is before the Magistrate’s Court. Today the little girl’s mother called News Five to say that contrary to reports by the police her daughter did not accept a ride from Williams. She says Williams was in the vehicle at the invitation of her uncle. The mother says she and her brother were in the front seat and that Williams, who was riding in the back with the children, reached over and touched the eldest girl. She says her daughter was so shocked and frightened she wasn’t able to tell her until the following day and that they immediately went to the police.
