Body found in lagoon

Shortly around six this morning Ruben Crawford a tour guide of Crooked Tree Village made a gruesome discovery. He found a partially decomposed body of a man floating in the Crooked Tree Lagoon. The man, who is of a dark complexion, has been identified as one Melvin “Bogo” Rhaburn, a fisherman of Carmelita Village. According to Dorothy Lanza, the dead man’s sister-in-law, Rhaburn left Carmelita around seven thirty on Tuesday morning saying he was going to Crooked Tree to fish. While no obvious signs of injury were detected on the body, police say they are treating the death as a homicide until they receive the postmortem results. Rhaburn’s body has been transported to the Orange Walk Hospital morgue.
