Musa: Police Acted Swiftly to Charge Williams
Minister of Home Affairs, Kareem Musa, commended the police department for acting swiftly in charging B.D.F. officer Williams for the crime of murder. He also sent his condolences to the Baeza family.
Kareem Musa, Minster of Home Affairs
“The incident involving the B.D.F., I think, is so very hurtful for all of us to watch. I do not believe the military officer was in the course of his duties when he did that. We have to understand that police officers and B.D.F. personnel, they are not robots. They are human beings just like us. They are prone to get frustrated. They are prone to take out their anger and aggression in this manner and this is just one horrifying act and I am glad to see that the police acted swiftly in charging him for murder. I send out my condolences to the family because that seems totally unjustified. I heard it was over a lighter. I think we can all condemn that officer, because nothing could have warranted that. But we don’t know what prompted him to have responded like that. It is just so very hurtful to watch that.”
