Story PictureA house was broken into on the Northern Highway on Thursday night, but the thieves never got too far from the scene and had to abandon their get-away vehicle and loot. News Five visited the house near mile eight on the Northern Highway and spoke with the caretaker, Eugene Henderson who said it was the homeowner’s brother who notified him of the break-in early this morning.

Henderson said when he checked the residence yesterday evening everything was in tact. The house belongs to Lance England, who is currently visiting Venezuela. Ladyville Police confirmed to News Five this evening that they received a tip about the burglary and saw the getaway red taxi speeding away from the house. But when cops tried to close in on the suspect vehicle, the occupants fled, leaving behind a washer. Up to news time, a gas tank that was removed from the house was still missing and is believed to still be in the area.

Meanwhile police are asking your help to locate this man. The office of the Director of Public Prosecutions says Fredrick Lynch is wanted as a witness in a case. If you know his whereabouts you’re asked to call the nearest police station.
