Becky Estrada is the Latest Shooting Victim in Mahogany Heights

The spate of gun violence in Mahogany Heights is concerning. We have been reporting on several shooting incidents in that community over the past two weeks and on Saturday night a woman became the latest victim of an armed attack. Becky Estrada was shot inside her home in the presence of her children when someone unleashed a hail of bullets inside the residence. According to police, the shooting may be related to a homicide that took place in Mahogany Heights recently.

“On Saturday, April sixteenth, around 10:20 p.m., Paul Smith Sr. and Becky Estrada were at home with their two minor children when they heard a barrage of bullets being fired at their house. Unfortunately, Ms. Estrada was hit and was transported to the Western Regional Hospital where she is receiving treatment.”

“Is there any factual accuracy to the suggestion that the targeting of this family’s home and her injuries are connected to any of the previous murder incidents that happened in that village recently?”

“I think as recent as last week we charged Paul Smith Jr. for a murder and he has been remanded to Hattieville. We would be blind to not investigate the connection of the murder that he was charged with to this latest shooting.”
