Devon Logan is Arrested for Fatal Stabbing of his Common-law Wife
Tracy Thompson was fatally stabbed by her common-law husband in Calcutta Village in the early hours of Friday morning. The incident followed an altercation the couple had earlier that night that resulted in Devon Logan being chased away from the property. When he returned sometime later, he inflicted the deadly injuries on the mother of three before fleeing the scene. Logan, who is originally from Seine Bight, was subsequently apprehended by police while traveling south to his home village.
ASP Fitzroy Yearwood, Communications Director, Belize Police Department
“Devon Logan received one charge, a single charge of murder and this was in connection with the stabbing death of Tracy Thompson that took place on Friday in Calcutta Village.”
Duane Moody
“Sir, I must say that I think police were quick in their response to be able to detain Mr. Logan, who is obviously not from Calcutta but from down south. They were quick to detain him and charge him. Let’s talk about that.”
Fitzroy Yearwood
“I’m not certain if the report that was sent out contained the fact that Ms. Thompson and Mr. Logan were involved in a domestic fight just hours before she was found dead. We know that Mr. Logan returned, well it is said that he returned to the scene of the crime and Ms. Thompson was found dead by her relatives in that house. Mr. Logan was detained by our officers whilst trying to reach the village in southern Belize that he comes from originally. A quick investigation led to him being apprehended and the file being sent to the D.P.P.’s office where we got back the directive to charge for murder.”
