Forestry Officer Suspended for Failure to Act in a Professional Manner
Forestry officer Danny Chi remains on a five-day suspension after receiving a letter from C.E.O. in the Ministry of Sustainable Development, Doctor Kenrick Williams. It comes on the heels of an incident where Prime Minister John Briceño claims that Chi hung up on his call. The charge is that the officer failed to act in a professional manner, in accordance with the Public Service Regulations. P.S.U. President Dean Flowers indicated earlier today that the correspondence issued to the suspended public officer is flawed.

“I will not venture to highlight those procedural errors or flaws contained therein because the C.E.O. is also a doctor and in addition of being a doctor, he has two administrative officers within his ministry and I would have hoped that when you put the three heads together, they would have gotten the initial letter out right. But I will limit my comment to that and to simply state that from the onset, there are fundamental issues with the letter that was served to Brother Chi. I cannot comment further on it because if it is that they believe that this is something that they can take to the commission, then we will do as we always do – point out there incompetence and walk out of that room in a matter of minutes.”
According to President Flowers, he is unaware of any previous attempt to investigate or disciplinary charges being made against Forestry officer Danny Chi.
