Citco renovates park
As part of their manifesto promise to improve recreational facilities for children, over the past two weeks the Belize City Council has been rehabilitating the Cinderella Park in the Caribbean Shores Area. Yesterday News Five visited the park and spoke with area representative for Caribbean Shores Jose Coye and City Councilor David Fonseca.
Jose Coye, Minister of Industry and Commerce
“Well I think it’s the continuation of our commitment to the city at the city level, government along with myself – a representative of the constituency. We were committed to develop parks and recreational areas so that our young people can put their energies into positive use.”
David Fonseca, City Councilor
“We have some individuals that have move around the city and has contributed to some of the state that the parks are in. And we are asking once again for other citizens who want to have the facilities available for the kids and for themselves in their other perspective to give us a hand by calling in whenever they see the parks and playgrounds being vandalized by these few individuals. We are committed to continue the maintenance and improvement and additional parks and playgrounds will be put in place of the new areas of the city.”
Fonseca says that if his slate is elected they will renovate all parks in Belize City.
