Belize Bureau of Standards Turns Thirty!
The Belize Bureau of Standards, the national standards body responsible for promoting efficiency and competitive production in goods and services is celebrating thirty years of existence. On Monday, a brief ceremony was held to commemorate the milestone. Here is a brief clip from that event.
Jose Trejo, Director, Belize Bureau of Standards
“For a mandate as big as ours much has been given and indeed much has been required. To carry a thirty-year mandate such as ours represents nothing more than hard work, dedication, commitment and drive, not to mention talent and skills to have arrived at this juncture. Perhaps an oxymoron, but while we have labored for thirty years, our work has only just begun. We say this to remind ourselves that our work is never done and there is really no time for us to settle, having come this far. While it is easy to be caught up with the rigors of unfinished work, I believe we can afford ourselves on this occasion a moment to reflect on the significance of this historical event as we pay tribute to the bureau‘s remarkable development and impact since its inception in 1982.”
