Weekend Shooting on Amandala Drive Leaves Two Persons Injured

ASP Fitzroy Yearwood

Fifty-nine-year-old Kevin Castillo and a minor were injured during a shooting incident on Friday night when they came under gunfire from an assailant who alighted a vehicle and took aim at the pair. It is unclear what precipitated the attack on Castillo and an investigation into the case is ongoing. The details of this incident are sparse, but Assistant Superintendent Fitzroy Yearwood shared what little the police department has been able to gather.

“The information sent to me is that they were walking on Amandala Drive, that’s in the St. Martin’s area, sometime around 11:10 p.m. on May twentieth, when a black S.U.V. approached them. One person exited the vehicle and fired several shots at them, injuring the minor, he got bodily injury, and also Mr. Crawford got injuries to the body.  They were transported to the K.H.M.H. where they are listed in stable condition.”
