No Arrests in Belize City Bomb Threats
Arrests are yet to be made for unrelated bomb threats that were called in at the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital and City Hall earlier this month. While an investigation remains open in the matter involving a prank call at City Hall, police say that the bomb threat at the K.H.M.H. was the work of a mental patient who threw a tantrum when doctors wouldn’t discharge her from the hospital.

“We don’t have anyone in custody; investigation into the bomb threat at City Hall is still ongoing. The bomb threat at Karl Heusner Memorial, we investigated that and it was done by a mental patient that was receiving treatment and was demanding to be sent home but doctors didn’t want to clear her to be released and she made that call. Whether or not charges will be levied against her that will be determined by the court and doctors whether or not she is fit to stand trial. But I know that they are still investigating that matter also.”
