Scuffle Between Credit Union Official and Supervisory Committee Members

Dominguez alleges that just today, an official at the credit union assaulted two members of the credit union’s supervisory committee, resulting in them suffering injuries. Those two persons, he said, will give statements to the police regarding the incident, the details of which he did not release. Dominguez challenges the grounds for his termination, quoting from the Credit Union Act which states that it would require a majority vote on a resolution at a meeting of the credit union members. Dominguez further claimed that the Board demanded that he submitted with immediate effect all belongings of the credit union, thereby officially ending his term with the institution. He said the Board even brought in the police to remove him.

Rafael Dominguez

“To my surprise, I saw two policemen behind me, in front of all the directors and the supervisory committee. I was escorted home because I had a pistol registered under my name which was bought by the credit union. I did not have that weapon on me in my possession that day, so I had to be escorted home for it and I was then brought back to the credit union office for them to register all the properties of the credit union, including cell phone, laptop, credit union vehicle, keys to my office, and at that point I was surprise because I did not expect that and I was told that the electronic devices were confiscated at once, so I was not given the opportunity to be able to retract my personal information on both devices.”

Dominguez claims there were irregularities happening at the credit union and he had terminated one person, but that when he attempted to terminate a second person who was culpable, the Board prevented him from doing so.
