Mahler and Shyne Go Tit-for-Tat
With all the criticism from the Leader of the Opposition, this morning the Minister of Tourism took a swipe at him by questioning his accomplishments as Music Ambassador during the thirteen years of the Barrow administration. Here’s the comment by Anthony Mahler and the subsequent response from Shyne Barrow.
Anthony Mahler, Minister of Tourism and Diaspora Relations
“Thirteen years as being Music Ambassador and the now Leader of the Opposition did not attempt that. What I can tell you is that there is not going to be a fake Koffee like the fake Rick Ross that he brought and all the nonsense that they did during their thirteen years as government. This is going to be a legitimate thing and we are working closely with the San Pedro Town Council and the area rep for San Pedro and NICH, and this is a serious business for us.”
Moses “Shyne” Barrow, Leader of the Opposition
“Were you not living in Belize in 2019, in 2018, in 2017, in 2016 when I brought Grammy award winning artists as well? Designer, I brought Popcaan to share the stage with Belizean artists. And, I hired hundreds of Belizean artists and I got a hundred thousand dollars from the government for the year. That was my entire budget and I found the rest of the money. So, Anthony Mahler could not stand next to me, not even close. We are leaps and bound a part. I mean that I am far beyond him in anything that he could have done for the music industry, that he is claiming he will do for the music industry.”
