Concert Ticket Will Go on Sale in June
So with dates set for the end of July, when will tickets officially go on sale and what will the logistics behind this mega event entail? Well, according to Minister Mahler, B.T.B. is partnering with marketing firms in the U.S. and Canada to promote the festival.
Anthony Mahler, Minister of Tourism & Diaspora Relations
“We have tremendous marketing power within the Belize Tourism Board, with our international partners. Tickets will go on sale on June seventh, I believe, and we believe that the energies that we are going to put into it will help us to sell the tickets. Look, this is the start of something that we believe could have longevity. We are going to rotate the destinations so that each destination has an opportunity. Obviously, you have to have the room stock, you have to have the complimentary infrastructure for it to be able to go in a destination, but we believe that it is an investment in our artists, it is an investment in developing the culinary arts for Belize and infusing those things into the overall product. We’re not hear to make profit, if we break even that is going to help us but that is an investment in our people and in our industry. We’re also, for that weekend, it’s going to be a big weekend in the island. We’re investing and partnering with a fishing tournament because we believe that that will attract a different audience. And so, we’re taking a different approach. I believe that music is an important aspect of our culture, it’s an important aspect of our industry and if we help to develop it then why can’t it be like reggae or dancehall for Jamaica? Why can’t it be like soca for Trinidad? Why can’t it be like afrobeats for the African nations? If we create an environment whereby our artists can be creative and produce world class music, then that is a win for us.”
