Cuba to help promote culture

Story Picture
Besides improving the living conditions of Belizeans, the Cuban government will also be helping us preserve and enhance culture. Marcial Mes, Minister of Culture and Rural Development says Cuba can help Belizeans promote what we do best.

Marcial Mes, Minister of Culture

“We signed three agreements. The first is to get three architects to come and help with the museum. The other agreement is to get experts to come and help with the seven houses of culture and the school of the arts. The other agreement is to help us with music and dance. We realize that we have these things; we have all these talents in Belize, but what we are lacking is people to promote us, bring up these talents and shine, just like what Cuba is doing. We need this kind of help and this will help with the tourist industry too. Because with our culture, the tourists can enjoy what we have here in Belize, our talents here in Belize.”

News Five will show you highlights of the visit to Cuba, including meetings with President Fidel Castro, later in this broadcast.
