A Cyclist is Knocked Down on the Stann Creek Valley Road
There was a road traffic accident along the Stann Creek Valley Road on Friday evening that has left a male cyclist recovering from injuries at the Southern Regional Hospital. According to Polly Alford, she was driving a Toyota Rav 4 along that stretch of road in the direction of Pomona Village and upon reaching mile fourteen; she collided into forty-seven-year-old Francisco Pop who was riding a beach cruiser bicycle. He received severe head and body injuries

“On Friday around 6:15 p.m., police responded to a road traffic accident around mile fourteen on the Stann Creek Valley Road where they saw a forty-seven-year-old man, Francisco Pop, that was hit by a RAV 4, driven at the time by a female, Polly Alford. She claimed that she was driving at the time from the direction towards Dangriga where this person suddenly swerved into her lane and she tried to avoid hitting him but unfortunately she ended up hitting him. He was transported to the hospital, the Southern Regional, and then we know that he was transported to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital in a critical condition.”
