Mexico/Belize meet to discuss areas of cooperation
Belize and Mexico cooperate in many areas and there is an active programme between the two. Today an official delegation from Mexico met with its counterparts at the House of Culture for a meeting of experts on technical and scientific cooperation between Mexico and Belize. The Mexican Delegation consists of seventeen officials from the government of Mexico, representing the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources, the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Agriculture, the Ministry of Tourism, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the General Attorney’s Office of Mexico. And according to Mexican Ambassador to Belize, Luis Manuel Lopez Moreno, the experts will analyze and discuss: environment, education, health, agriculture, tourism and security.

“We are now having the opening ceremony of the committee from both countries, Mexico and Belize. We are launching this conversation in order to achieve the agreement that we need to sign for the technical cooperation and a scientific operation for 2011. So now around thirty-five experts they will have conversation from today until Friday in order to talk about how the lines of the kind of cooperation we will have. We are working very hard to have these kind of meetings in Belize and to achieve many works for the benefit of the the Mexican people and the Belizean people.”

“I think education is one of them that is very important for us and the cultural exchanges. But is necessary to talk about how to improve the cooperation to support the economic growth of Belize and the area that we are working with southern cities in Mexico and that is where we have the support with strong relationship in education and health is very important issue and environment.”
The meeting is paving the way for the seventh Meeting of the Joint Commission for Technical and Scientific Cooperation Mexico-Belize to be held later this year. The working sessions between Mexican and Belizean experts will conclude on Friday February twenty seventh.
