Taiwan Chambers of Commerce meet in Belize
This weekend the Belize Taiwan Chamber of Commerce will host the first time annual meeting of Taiwan Chambers of Commerce in Latin America. The event at the Fiesta Inn will be attended by about one hundred members from Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Costa Rica, the Dominican Republic, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, El Salvador, and Venezuela. There will also be representatives from Taiwan as well as the United States. Among the highlights are addresses by Weishim Ko, the Minister of Chinese Overseas Affairs, Jose Coye, Belize’s Minister of Industry and Commerce and Mark Espat, Belize’s Minister of Tourism. According to the Belize Chapter, the Taiwan Chambers of Commerce is a worldwide association with over forty thousand members in Europe, Asia, Africa and the Americas. The Belize Chapter of the Taiwan Chamber of Commerce was formed in Belize in 1993. B.T.C.C. has made donations to the Belize Police Department and recently assisted the Embassy of the Republic of China on Taiwan with the production of Chinese Cultural night on January eighth.
