Mayor Wagner: Out of Micah’s Fall Cometh a Lesson

Micah Goodin’s fall from grace is a blow to his political career; however, Mayor Wagner feels it will serve as a good life lesson, one that will make him a better person. Wagner has indicated that he will not seek re-election as mayor in 2024, but how does the Council right itself with Goodin as a part of the team that will seek another term? Wagner feels that in due course, Goodin will rise above this point.

“Marion, I believe that time heals everything. And it gives Councilor Goodin the opportunity to step back. All of us during our course of life have met challenges and sometimes it hits you in the face and it gives you an opportunity to step back and reflect, do some introspective work on yourself.  I’m certain that the test at hand for Councilor Goodin is a necessary test and I believe that out of this he will become a better person.”

Mayor Wagner indicated that the past system of governance that was in place soon after the Goodin incident – that of him running the daily operations of the Council remotely is no longer in place. And that will be evident as early as this Friday when Councilor Stephanne Hamilton will act as Mayor for a week. That’s because the Mayor and Pollard will be in Rwanda attending a seminar.
