New Chairman, New Plans for Crooked Tree Village

Brandon Gillett

In Crooked Tree earlier today, we spoke with Brandon Gillett, the newly elected village chairman who ran an independent slate in the village council elections back in May. We asked Gillett about his plans for the village.

Brandon Gillett, Chairman, Crooked Tree Village

“We ran an independent slate with our logo serving the people. Our job is that we want to…we are not putting it like we are working against no political parties; independent means we are moving with both of them and it is us to just help move the village forward. We got so much projects that we want to do in the village. Like today, the Ministry of Agriculture has helped us donate twenty-five loads for the Blackburn Road that goes across for the farmers; that’s a big accomplishment for our village council. We want to put a permanent cover over the basketball court. We want to help the schools, lot of different stuff.”

“I am sure during your campaign challenges were identified. What is it that residents are clamoring for?”

Brandon Gillett

“The main problem our village has Duane is the roads. The road is terrible. And right now we are just entering the rainy season and the roads are in bad shape. So I am just pleading to the government to just put that into consideration, the roads.”
