Mrs. Siew tours Belize City

Story Picture
While her husband was in Belmopan with Belize’s Prime Minister and Cabinet, Madame Siew had some official duties of her own this afternoon. Accompanied by First Lady Joan Musa, the wife of Taiwan’s Ambassador to Belize Mrs. Shen and spouses from the Taiwanese delegation, the women first stopped at St. John’s Anglican Cathedral. Mrs. Siew was greeted by students of Queen’s Square Anglican and St. John’s Primary School. Once inside Bishop Sylvestre Romero Palma thanked Madame Siew for her visit to our nation and said he hopes that the two countries could keep in close contact for the benefit of our people. Madame Siew was presented with a small token of appreciation from the St. John’s restoration committee. Madame Siew seemed pleased by the warm reception.

Madame Siew

“We are very happy to be here although it was only a couple of hours but we are so impressed. It is such a beautiful country; it’s got blue skies and we are really impressed.

We thank God for protecting this church well through so many hurricanes. We thank God for keeping this church so well. We also thank God that we are going to do great things for this church and in this nation too.

God bless you and bless your family and this country.”

The Religious Committee from Taiwan also gave a donation to the Anglican Cathedral. Madame Siew and her delegation were then taken to the Government House Museum for a tour. Following this they went to the Child Care Centre in King’s Park where another donation was made. Tomorrow morning Area Representative for the Belize Rural South, Patty Arceo will host Madame Siew and the wives at a breakfast.
