Shyne Shines Big for Belize at BET Awards
Millions of viewers from across the United States and many in Belize were glued to their television on Sunday night for the annual BET Awards where artist in all genres of black music competed in various categories. Many emerged victorious, including Jazmine Sullivan. But it was Shyne’s performance during the tribute to Sean “Puff Daddy” Combs who was honored with he Lifetime Achievement Award that has many Belizeans talking, at home and abroad. During the tribute, the Leader of the Opposition took the stage before thousands in the audience where he performed an updated version of his 2000 hit single, “Bad Boys”. While the lyrics were altered to a more patriotic content, the highlight of that brief performance was the unveiling of the Belize flag, a proud moment for all who were watching.
